Mental Health Counseling for Teens and Adults

Welcome. It is my privilege to work with teens and adults as they journey through life’s challenges.

About Your Counselor

After fifteen years teaching at the elementary and middle school level, I made the decision to transition into the counseling field. While I truly enjoyed my experience as an educator, it was the one-on-one conversations with students, parents and colleagues about relationships and mental health that were not only meaningful to me, but felt critical. It is my belief that only after healthy mental functioning is established, can we really thrive in other areas of our lives.

I hold a Master’s Degree in Education from Concordia University, Irvine. Coursework and areas of focus included Autism Spectrum Disorder, a Spanish minor, multicultural approaches in the educational setting, and child/adolescent development.

I hold a Master’s of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Capella University in Minnesota. Coursework focus included child, adolescent and adult psychological development, Autism Spectrum Disorder research, best practices for treating mental health disorders, food addiction research and multicultural approaches to counseling.

In addition to the extensive study I have completed on the subject of autism, I have also been working and interacting with individuals on the autism spectrum in various capacities for 25 years. This includes time working in an autism clinic, working one-on-one with individuals in the classroom setting and interactions in my own personal relationships.   It is my area of expertise. I am truly passionate about supporting these individuals as they find their voice, their place in society and realize that their unique skill set has much to offer the world.
